Biochemical characterization of defense responses in rose genotypes in response to artificial inoculation with black spot pathogen Diplocarpon rosae

نویسندگان

چکیده

Resistance responses in the leaves of eight rose genotypes, Knock Out (highly resistant), Arka Nishkant (moderately R. multiflora susceptible), Swadesh IIHRR 13-4 (susceptible), Parimala indica (susceptible) and 4-15-12 exhibiting varied levels resistance against black spot were investigated post artificial inoculation with pathogen, Diplocarpon rosae. There was consistent increase activities defense related enzymes such as catalase, peroxidase, polyphenol oxidase, superoxide dismutase phenylalanine ammonia lyase other secondary metabolites like phenols flavonoids at different phases progression high resistant genotypes Nishkant. The peak activity concentration witnessed during early stages infection while it later phase susceptible genotypes. These results suggested that faster stronger activation system is associated spotin

A draft genome sequence of the rose black spot fungus Diplocarpon rosae reveals a high degree of genome duplication

BACKGROUND Black spot is one of the most severe and damaging diseases of garden roses. We present the draft genome sequence of its causative agent Diplocarpon rosae as a working tool to generate molecular markers and to analyze functional and structural characteristics of this fungus. RESULTS The isolate DortE4 was sequenced with 191x coverage of different read types which were assembled into...

Evaluation of Biostimulants to Control Guignardia Leaf Blotch (Guignardia aesculi) of Horsechestnut and Black Spot (Diplocarpon rosae) of Roses

Biostimulants are classified as materials that are neither a fertilizer nor a pesticide, but when applied to a plant will enhance their health, growth, and protection. Manufacturers claim biostimulants have underexploited potential in providing protectant properties to plants against pathogen attack. This study evaluated the efficacy of seven commercially available biostimulants against the fol...

Responses of Almond Genotypes to Osmotic Stress Induced In Vitro

Drought is one of the major limitations to crop production worldwide. This study was conducted to evaluate the response of five almond genotypes and peach×almond hybrid GF to drought stress in vitro, and screening drought tolerance. Explants subjected to polyethylene glycol osmotic stress ( , , and . % WV) on the MS medium. Increasing PEG level in the medium significantly reduced fresh weight a...

Evaluation of Biochemical Response and Defense Mechanism of Wheat Antioxidant Enzymes to Salinity Stress

Understanding the reaction form and biochemical response of wheat cultivars about the salinity stress can help to better understand the defense mechanisms and identify the indicators and biomarkers of tolerance screening for salinity stress in this strategic plant and other field crop. For this purpose, biochemical traits related to salinity tolerance of wheat cultivars were evaluated as a f...
